SmartGov project at UN-Habitat’s 9th World Urban Forum Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The value of City-City Partnerships for Implementing the New Urban Agenda

Gabriela was invited speaker on the topic: Digital Governance for Sustainable and Smart Cities: Quadruple Helix Partnership in the case of the JPI Urban Europe SmartGov Project

The main focus of the session was to discuss the following questions:

• How can global partnerships contribute to the mobilisation towards a common vision on sustainable urban development?
• How can global triple/quadruple helix city partnerships foster capacity building/knowledge creation for implementing the NUA?
• What framework conditions are required to allow global partnerships among cities to be successful?

Open Space for discovering possible use cases for the city of Vienna

On 18th of January three brainstorming sessions with eight participants each identified in total 32 use case ideas for piloting smart government tools in the city of Vienna. The brainstorming sessions were embedded in an event called the innovation lab symposium 2018 (http://www.govlabaustria.gv.at/veranstaltung/ilabsymp_2018/) , using the open space method to work on several innovation topics. After explaining the SmartGov project in general and the tools developed for data driven decisions in particular by the moderators, the groups were suggesting possible use cases for data-driven decisions for the city of Vienna.

Pilot Workshop Limassol

SmartGov’s workshop for stakeholders and experts for the Limassol pilot was held at the Municipality’s Town Hall with Interfusion Services and Cyprus University of Technology in December 2017.

At the end of January 2018 a training session for users will follow.
